Participatory Budgeting allows residents to take part in deciding how OUR money gets spent. Normally, our elected officials make all the decisions on how capital dollars are spent - PB engages residents in the process of identifying projects and putting them on a ballot. The polls are then open to residents for voting. If you have any questions, you can contact the WRBA by calling 718-296-3735 or emailing the WRBA at [email protected]. You can also call Eric Ulrich's Office at 718-738-1083.
Residents of Woodhaven, Richmond Hill and Ozone Park (District 32 - Councilman Eric Ulrich) will choose from 9 possible projects. Each person will vote for 5 of the 9 projects. One Million Dollars has been allocated for this -- so all of the top vote getters up to a million dollars will be funded.
Here is the list of projects we will be voting from:
- $300,000 to mill and pave 2 miles of Woodhaven Blvd.
- New signage for hiking trails(3) in Forest Park $50,000
- Fix flooding issues and repave parking lot in 102nd Precinct- $450,000
- Install Real Time Bus Countdown Clocks on 4 CB9 bus stops- $80,000
- Technology upgrades at PS273 ($100k), Smart boards at PS60 ($91k), A/V upgrades to auditorium in PS 64 (100k) and replace school yard fencing at JHS 210 (85k)
- New fencing and signage at Forest Park Dog Park- $100k
- Complete Renovation and replacement of Giovenelli Playground- $300,000 (this would be in addition to $1 million dollars allocated by the BP and fully fund this project)
- Interior upgrades at Richmond Hill Library- $100,000
- Repave pathways in Forest Park adjacent to Schaffer Memorial- $150,000
